Michele Pangilinan
Biography
Michele Yamada Pangilinan, MD, FACOG, FASAM is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Perinatal Addiction Medicine specialist at Hawai’i Pacific Health and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, affiliated with the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai’i. Dr. Pangilinan attended the John A. Burns School of Medicine, and received her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the University of Hawai’i. She has an additional board certification in Addiction Medicine, serving as the Perinatal Addiction Treatment Center of Hawai’i (PATH) educational clinic director for the OB GYN residency and Addiction Medicine fellowship programs and serves as a board member of Pu’ulu Lapa’au, Hawai’i’s Program for Healthcare Professionals. She is passionate about clinical research that aims to dismantle stigma and improve healthcare equity for Hawai’i’s marginalized populations. She serves as a faculty mentor for multiple resident research projects including this project, which was co-developed by Dr. Brooklyn Cochrane, a third-year Obstetrics and Gynecology resident physician at the University of Hawai’i.
