Len Tanaka

Biography

Dr. Len Tanaka works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children located in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is medical director for the Hanuola ECMO program of the Pacific. His research interests include pediatric transport, simulation in medical education, and extracorporeal life support. He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii attending Kaimuki High School. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and earned degree Bachelors of Science in Mathematics specializing in Computer Science. He received his medical degree from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine. Then he completed a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship and a Masters degree in health informatics at the University of Texas Medical Center at Houston before joining the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
