Biography
I am a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM - "High risk pregnancy") Physician at Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women and Children. I completed undergraduate studies and medical school in Arizona (University of Arizona, Midwestern University College of Osteopathic Medicine), and OB/GYN residency at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. I moved to Hawai`i in 2017 for my fellowship in MFM at UH JABSOM, and enjoyed working here so much, I was ecstatic to stay on after graduation. My primary research interests lie in understanding how environmental, nutrition, and social exposures lead to health disparities and adverse pregnancy outcomes for pregnant persons of low socioeconomic status, and how these exposures can be mitigated to improve health for underserved populations. I find the link between socioeconomic adversity and commensal microbiota fascinating and aim to understand how this association promotes health or disease states.
