Byron Izuka
Biography
Dr. Byron Izuka is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric-related diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Born and raised in Hawaii, he is a proud graduate of the JABSOM (and Aiea High School) and the UH Surgical and Orthopedic Surgical Residency Training Programs. He strives to live up to the pediatric credo that “Children and not just little adults” by raising the bar and setting new standards of care with his research.
Dr. Izuka is especially interested in pediatric orthopedic trauma and is passionate about ways to improve the non-operative aspects of care. He understands that surgery should always be the course of last resort and, as an experienced surgeon himself, is in the best position to understand how to achieve this goal.
